We publish every rubric, weight, and dataset. Any reader, scientist, or competitor can replicate our results.

    Category definition

    We define the category, sub-niche, price band, and use case before sourcing a single product.

  2. 02

    Sourcing

    Products are bought anonymously at retail. No samples from brands are used in scoring.

  3. 03

    Lab measurement

    Instrumented tests run in our acoustics, optics, and materials labs against published rigs.

  4. 04

    Panel scoring

    Four independent panels score each product blind against a published rubric.

  5. 05

    Long-term durability

    We retain each unit for 12 months and re-score quarterly for wear and reliability.

  6. 06

    Independent audit

    Third-party auditors re-verify a randomly sampled subset of our results each quarter.
